Being an active member in my community is important to me. I am passionate about fighting food insecurity and there is no better place to begin than in my own community. I am very involved with a local food pantry as well as volunteer at larger food banks and help prepare meals for local meal delivery services. Not only are these activities something that I enjoy doing and am passionate about, but I also am able to put my food safety and nutrition knowledge to use.
I have been an active member of local and state professional organizations, OCDDA and OkAND, since I began the pursuit of a career in dietetics in 2018 and a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics since 2019. Early on in my education it was clear to me the importance of being a student member of such professional organizations.
